Union appoints new vice president of Administration and Finance

President David R. Harris has appointed Michele Gibson as the new vice president for Administration and Finance.

In her role as a member of the president’s senior staff, Gibson will oversee Finance, Human Resources, Facilities, Bookstore and Mail Room, and share supervisory responsibilities for Dining Services.

Students compete at undergraduate health care conference

A team from Union took second place in a case competition at the fifth annual Wharton Undergraduate Health Management Conference in Philadelphia last weekend.

Ruchi Raval ‘20, (biology and political science), Julian Mak’19 (chemistry and philosophy), Dhruv Patel ‘19, (economics and mathematics) and team captain Marc Perlman ’19 (biology and economics) participated.

Kenney Community Center honored for its work in Schenectady neighborhood

Union’s Kenney Community Center was recently honored by the Hamilton Hill Neighborhood Association for its volunteer work.

Student volunteers regularly participate in neighborhood cleanups, projects at the Hamilton Hill Arts Center and COCOA House, which provides afterschool tutoring and other programs to Schenectady children.

New exhibit focuses on Union presidents past and present

“Two Centuries of Union College Presidents, 1795-2018,” is currently on display in Beuth Atrium. Drawn from historical papers in the college’s Special Collections, the exhibit provides an overview of the distinguished men who have led Union College since its inception.

The exhibit, which runs until Dec. 14, is presented by the Schaffer Library Special Collections and Archives.

Union honored as Community Partner of the Year by Schenectady ARC

Union has been recognized as the “Community Partner of the Year” by the Schenectady ARC.

The award was presented Thursday night at the organization’s annual dinner. Jake Feinstein ’21, a student volunteer, accepted the award on the College’s behalf.

The College has had a longstanding community partnership with the Schenectady ARC (Advocacy, Resources, Choices).
