Hasan Al Babaa, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, delivered an invited research talk, “Willis Coupling for Wave Non-reciprocity: Redefining the Brillouin Zone in Mechanical Lattices,” at the University of Vermont. The talk was presented as part of the Mechanical Engineering Department's seminar series at UVM.

Jeff Corbin, the Florence B. Sherwood Professor of Life Sciences, co-authored a paper in Trends in Ecology and Evolution, "How do we know when invasive species control strategies work?" This paper reviews the challenges that habitat managers face as they combat invasive species, and proposes a series of research questions to guide the field in the coming decade.

Corbin also participated in a symposium at the annual meeting of the North American Invasive Species Management Association. The symposium highlighted current research at the intersection of invasive species and climate change. Corbin's talk was entitled, “Strengthening regional cooperation to prevent biological invasions.”

Stephanie Curley, the Mary H. ‘80 and Richard K. Templeton ‘80 assistant professor of Biomedical Engineering, presented a talk, “Incorporation of Braun’s Lipoprotein leader sequence improves surface expression and immunogenicity of Borrelia burgdorferi Outer surface protein C on E. coli-derived outer membrane vesicles " at the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) Annual Meeting October 21-24. Curley was joined by Joshua Chuah, visiting assistant professor of biomedical engineering, and members of the Chuah lab: Ara Cserepy '27, Ashley Pablo Trujillo '28 and Kevin Tran '28, all of whom presented posters on their research.

Carol Weisse, the Ronald M. Obenzinger Professor of Psychology/Director of Health Professions, along with Dr. George Giokas and chaplain Tony Green were featured in the Ellis Medicine podcast Beyond the Chart: Conversations About End-of-Life Care, described as "a thoughtful conversation about palliative care, hospice and supporting loved ones through life's most difficult moments. Together, they explore the importance of advance care planning, the role of compassionate end-of-life care, and how having these conversations early can bring comfort, clarity, and peace of mind for patients and families alike."

Megan E. Welsh, associate librarian and director of research & engagement, and Krystal Madkins (Northwestern University) published the book chapter “Supporting developmental journeys: Applying Ecological Systems Theory in libraries,” which brings developmental psychologist Urie Bronfenbrenner’s work into a library context. Their chapter appears in the volume Intersecting Identities: Faith at a Crossroads edited by V. Dozier and Martha Adkins.
