Staff members have access to Schaffer Library’s rich collection of books, journals, newspapers, databases, and more. Library hours change based on whether classes are in session or not. The Current Reading Area, containing a selection of new and popular titles, as well as the most recent issues of some popular magazines and newspapers. Find this area in front of the Lally Reading Room and next to the printers when you first enter the library.
Personal accounts for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and Chronicle of Higher Education. We also have subscriptions to PressReader, which covers more than 6,000 newspapers, and Flipster for access to many popular magazines.
Over 600 Databases, such as Alexander Street Press, Adam Matthew Explorer, and other historical databases for primary and secondary resources, and Academic Search Premier for thousands of magazines and journals.
Databases for streaming media, including Docuseek for documentary films, Music Online: Contemporary World Music for over 150,000 albums, and Met Opera on Demand for audio and visual of opera performances.
The Bloomberg Terminal, a computer system for real-time financial data analysis, trading, and news, and free access to the Bloomberg Market Concepts course and certification. The Bloomberg Terminal is located off of the Learning Commons.
Copies of the Union College yearbook (The Garnet) are available at the Circulation Desk and at Special Collections.

The Union College Art Permanent Collection (UCPC) holds over 3,000 works of art, objects. and items of material culture, including significant cultural resources from Eastern, Ancient, and Pre-Columbian cultures, historical scientific instrumentation, and artwork from internationally recognized artists.

All events are free, and open to the public and the Union Community.
The Mandeville Gallery is located on the second floor of the Nott Memorial and is free and open to the public 7 days a week. The gallery is dedicated to exhibiting nationally recognized contemporary artists that explore current and historical cultural themes.
