2024 Arnold Bittleman Memorial Prize - DEADLINE MARCH 18

In memory of artist and founder of Union College’s Visual Arts Department, the Arnold Bittleman Memorial Prize honors a student who “has studied drawing in the Visual Arts department and whose work, in the judgment of an outside juror, is outstanding.”

The recipient of the Arnold Bittleman Memorial Prize is honored with a cash prize on Prize Day and a solo exhibition in the Wold Student Gallery.

Submissions due:
Monday, March 18, 2024 by 5pm

Submit 5-10 digital images of artwork that includes evidence of “drawing.” Drawing, painting, printmaking or mixed media work will be considered.

Portfolio Submission:

  • All work should be submitted via Google Drive.
  • Title a new folder: Bittleman_your full name_class year
  • Title each image: your full name_year created_medium_dimensions (ie: Jane Doe_2023 oiloncanvas_10x20in)
  • Share the folder with Professor Nemett, nemettl@union.edu.

    2024 Spring and Summer Internships - DEADLINE APRIL 5

    The Seward House Museum in Auburn, NY is seeking applications for spring internships for academic credit, as well as summer placements, when the Museum offers several paid positions. Applications for summer internships will be accepted until April 5, 2024; interviews will take place immediately thereafter. Spring semester applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.     Open to artists of any skill level. Tables, desks and easels are available. Bring your supplies. No instruction provided.

    Models are nude, the schedule is:
    Five 2 minute sessions
    Two 5 minute sessions
    Two 10 minute sessions
    Three 20 minute sessions
