Union’s social media channels were abuzz this year with news of the discovery of George Washington’s hair in Schaffer Library and the addition of a new president. 1. May 31, 2018: Minerva Fellows announcement

2. Oct. 12, 2017: Memorial service for Alex Azkenazy ‘20

Hundreds of members of the Union community gathered in the Nott Memorial to honor the life of Alex Azkenazy.

During the winter, a lock of President George Washington’s hair was found in Schaffer Library, which drew national interest and curiosity to Union.

8. Feb. 27, 2018 – Peaceful Protests Won’t Harm Admissions Decisions

Students in the Class of 2022 were assured that engaging in a peaceful protest in response to the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. and gun violence nationwide would not harm their Union College admissions decision. 

9. June 1, 2018 – Inauguration of David R. Harris Announcement for Sept. 7 and 8
