In your first year at Union, you’ll be assigned a roommate and a residence hall—Fox House, Richmond House, or West College—based on your preference for your first-year preceptorial, a cornerstone of the Union curriculum. Residential Life strives to fulfill your room style preference (corridor or suite) and provide a tranquil, study-oriented environment for students seeking a peaceful living space. All living arrangements aim to nurture a strong sense of community and offer amenities, including TV cable hookup, telephone and internet connections.
After your first year, housing will be determined through a lottery system based on seniority, and you’ll be able to select your roommate.

If so, consider Union's theme houses, unique on-and off-campus residences where like-minded upper-class students live together for the purpose of embracing and promoting a common theme.

Since the late 1990s, Union has been renovating these unique turn-of-the-century homes, situated just across the street from campus, into student apartment-style living. The latest addition to this neighborhood is the Garnet Commons—a new three-story, 38,420 square-foot apartment-style residence.

Every student and faculty member is a part of one of the seven Minerva Houses, which unite the campus community through numerous events annually. Students have access to a substantial programming budget, utilizing it to organize a wide array of activities. The upper floors of all Minerva Houses feature residence halls that provide unique accommodations for over 240 upper-class students.

Many of Union's Greek organizations have residences on campus that are owned by the College. Room and board are paid through the College, similar to the other residence halls.
Each Greek house is unique in style and accommodations, some being attached to residence halls while others are stand-alone buildings.
