User Experience

  • Quick Actions on Homepage

    New section at the top of the Workday homepage, including buttons to help you navigate more quickly to some of the most used tasks and reports.

    Changes You'll See

    • New buttons at the top of the homepage for frequently used tasks
    • Easy access to tasks such as Check In, Check Out, Request Absence, Create Expense Report, etc.

  • Workday Mobile Navigation

    Applications previously under the Apps menu in Workday Mobile will now appear under Menu, providing a more consistent experience across web and mobile.

  • Updated Worker Profile

    The Worker Profile has been updated with a modern visual design and a cleaner, more intuitive layout for easier access to information.

Absence & Time Management

  • Time Management Hub

    Workday introduces a new Time Management Hub, providing a single location for Absence and Time Tracking tasks and reports on both web and mobile.

    Please note: All managers should continue using either the Review Time shortcut or the Time and Scheduling Hub to review and approve time.

    What You'll See

    • This hub consolidates related functions, enabling users to submit absence requests, review available balances, enter time, and perform check-in and check-out activities (for time clock users).
    • Access records of all prior absence requests by selecting the My Absence option within the hub.

Payroll

  • New Absence Calendar Experience

    With the new Absence Calendar Experience, you will be able to add one or multiple entries for the same date, request multiple types of time off for the same date, and change the date of existing entries.

    • Introduction of a new microcalendar
    • New section and method for viewing balances and requests
    • Requests can now be corrected directly
    • Multiple entries can be added for the same date
    • Time off can be updated on a per-day basis

    New Absence Calendar Experience
  • Payslip Withholding
    • The total dependent amount is now displayed in the W-4 withholding elections section.
    • Exempt will appear in the Marital Status field for workers with a federal tax exemption.

Reporting

  • Report Catalog- UC

    All users can run the Report Catalog- UC report to view a list of all reports in Workday. Reports can only be run if the user has the appropriate security permissions.

    What You'll See

    • The list displays the report name, category (e.g. Suppliers, Expenses, Worker), description, and any comments provided by Workday.
    • Each header is clickable, allowing users to filter or search by keyword—for example, to view all reports within a specific category

Coming Soon

  • Manager’s Insight Hub

    This centralized space allows Managers and Supervisors to access automated insights and recommendations to support their team’s growth and development. It provides a variety of tools to help you manage and support your team efficiently:

    • Managers can quickly view and act on pending approvals, hiring requests, and staffing events.
    • Hiring and Staffing: Access the Hiring and Staffing Overview to create job requisitions and positions, and monitor recent in-progress job requisitions at a glance.
    • Time Management: Complete essential time management tasks and reports, including entering and correcting time off and reviewing worker time-off balances.
    • The Team Highlights section displays pending approvals, upcoming team time off, workers on leave, and more.
  • Workday Time Clock Kiosk for Android

    The Workday Time Clock kiosk will now be supported on college-purchased Android tablets. Starting in October, multiple kiosks will be installed across campus for users who prefer not to use their personal devices for check-in/out or who prefer using a kiosk.
