Handshake

• Handshake is the #1 career site for college students to find internships and jobs and is free for all Union College students and alumni
• Handshake is specifically geared toward college students and recent graduates who are looking to land their first internships or jobs
• The platform allows students to schedule appointments, register for events, connect with employers and apply for internships and jobs

As a Union Student in Handshake you can:

• Make appointments with the Career Center
• Register for events and career fairs, hosted by the Career Center or others
• Connect with employers and find opportunities
• Access Career Center resources and guides

• Handshake uses the information you provide in your profile to give you personalized job and internship recommendations, helping you discover opportunities that fit your interests and goals
• Your Handshake profile can be visible to employers, students, and alumni across all of Handshake
• Gives your prospective connections a snapshot of your relevant educational, work, and life experiences and recruiters are five times more likely to proactively reach out to you if your profile is complete

As a Union Alumni in Handshake you can:

• Use Career Center Resources and Guides
• Find opportunities specifically for Union alum
• Make appointments with our career advisors for up to seven years after graduation

Alumni accounts on Handshake function similarly to those of student accounts. To keep your Handshake profile active after graduation:

• Update your primary email address from your school-issued email to a personal email address in your account settings
• Set up a personal password to replace Single Sign-On (SSO) login, as school credentials expire one year post-graduation
• If you no longer have access to your school's email address, reach out to us and we will initiate the email change in Handshake
