Communications Policies

Stewarding the Union brand

Every piece of communication that goes out with the Union name on it is a representation of our brand. The Office of Communications & Marketing has created a number of standard policies and guidelines designed to protect the Union brand and make sure it is represented in a professional and accurate manner in all of our communications vehicles. Guidelines cover the following topics:

  • Acceptable use of Union College visual assets such as logos, wordmarks, photography, etc. (including downloads of the assets themselves)
  • Official writing style for Union, including how to spell and punctuate common Union words and phrases properly
  • Roles and responsibilities regarding the College website, and tips for presenting information effectively online (see Web Guidelines)
  • Policies for using or contributing to Union's social media outposts
  • Procedures and guidelines for having communications pieces printed
