Project by Jillmarie Murphy examines the history of women during a critical period

Jillmarie Murphy, the William D. Williams Professor of English and director of Interdisciplinary Studies, recently completed “Women and the Environment in the Long Nineteenth Century 1775-1925.” The four-volume set considers varied interconnections between gender and the environment, broadly conceived, and includes extensive editorial commentary focusing on a variety of rare, unpublished and difficult-to-access archival documents, as well as more familiar published sources.

New microcredentials to offer expanded career opportunities for Union students

Starting this fall, Union will begin offering academic microcredentials, which are designed to help students gain specific in-demand skills and competencies to make them more desirable to prospective employers. Complementing Union’s traditional liberal arts curriculum, the pilot microcredentials being offered will focus on personal finance, artificial intelligence and Microsoft Excel.
