Union College Theater and Dance Department presents Mr Burns, A Post-Electric Play by Anne Washburn, directed by Gabriel Thom Pasculli. In the not-so-distant future, a group of strangers gathers around a fire. Under the stars they begin to recount moments from a television episode of The Simpsons -- one that they mostly remember. Soon they (and we) begin to piece together not only the episode, but fragments from an event that has drastically altered the course of their lives. They tell stories in order to remember, to entertain, and to make sense of what has happened. Low and behold the stories evolve, and what was first recounted as bits and pieces of a television show becomes... something else entirely. Part comedy and part social-commentary, this play with music shows how the pop culture of one era might evolve into the mythology of another.
The runtime is approximately 100 minutes, with a brief intermission.
Please note this production contains themes that may not be suitable for younger audiences.
