Early Decision at Union

THE BENEFITS OF APPLYING ED

At Union, we believe in rewarding you for your early commitment to us, and we do.

1

Priority Review: ED applicants receive prioritized focus in our admissions process.

2

Generous Aid: We meet the full demonstrated financial need of admitted students who submit all financial aid materials by published deadlines. And we package ED applicants first. This allows us to fund some early decision applicants whose need is higher than we would be able to fund in later rounds.

3

Top-Tier Merit Scholarship Consideration: Every ED candidate qualifying for merit aid is automatically considered for our highest scholarship tiers.

IS EARLY DECISION RIGHT FOR YOU?

If the statements below resonate, ED is a good choice for you.

  • Union is my absolute #1 choice.
  • I've explored campus (in person or virtually) and see myself thriving here.
  • I want to lock in my college choice early and take some pressure off of my senior year.
  • My family and I have reviewed estimated costs using the Net Price Calculator.

THE ED PROCESS IN FOUR STEPS

1

Submit your application via the Common App or Coalition app along with your signed ED agreement. To be considered for Early Decision, you must submit the Early Decision Agreement (Common App ED form or Coalition ED form) with your application.

The ED Agreement is a binding agreement signed by you, your counselor and a guardian, confirming Union is your top pick. When accepted, you commit to enroll and withdraw other applications.

2

File financial documents. ED applicants who want to be considered for financial aid must submit the required financial aid documents by the application deadline.

3

Get your decision. There are three possible decisions extended to ED applicants, on a rolling basis: admit, defer to the regular applicant pool or deny.

4

Claim your spot. If admitted, submit your deposit, withdraw other applications and join the Union College Garnet Charger family!
