Common ApplicationCoalition Application

If Union is your first choice, consider applying Early Decision (ED).

Early Decision I: application and credentials are due by Nov. 15, with decisions announced on a weekly rolling basis starting in November.

Early Decision II: application and credentials are due by Jan. 15, with decisions announced on a weekly rolling basis starting in January.

Regular Decision applicants may switch their application to ED II until February 20 by notifying our office at admissions@union.edu and submitting the Early Decision Agreement.

Benefits for applying Early Decision at Union:

  • Early Decision candidates are favored in the admissions process.
  • Prioritized financial aid and scholarship consideration:
    • Need-based aid: Union is need aware in the admission process. Early decision applicants are the very first students we package. As a result, we are able to admit some early decision applicants whose need is higher than we would be able to fund in later rounds.
    • Merit aid: Early decision applicants who qualify for merit-based aid are automatically eligible for our highest merit awards.

About Early Decision at Union:

  • To be considered for Early Decision, applicants submit the Early Decision Agreement (Common App ED form or Coalition ED form) with your application.
  • First quarter senior grades are required.
  • ED applicants for financial aid must submit the required financial aid documents by the application deadline.
  • There are three possible decisions extended to ED applicants: admit, defer to the regular applicant pool or deny.
  • If admitted, Early Decision candidates are committed to attend Union. After enrolling, they must withdraw all applications to other colleges and universities.
