Her primary research interests are in applied microeconomics, industrial organization, and energy & environmental economics. She studies pressing energy and environmental economic questions using empirical industrial organization methodology and causal inference.

Distinctions
Professor Thao Duong received her B.A. in Economics from Kalamazoo College and her Ph.D. in Economics from Texas A&M University. Her research investigates how government policies can effectively impact consumer decisions to adopt green technology, with a focus on the electric vehicle industry. She also studies how policies aimed at reducing pollution could improve human capital accumulation.
