The Office of Residential Education & Housing is excited to welcome applicants for our Res Ed Student Leaders, both resident assistants and FSL house managers.

Serving as a Student Leader as part of the ResEd Team is a rewarding opportunity to gain leadership skills while also joining a team that will expand your network of support. The Office of Residential Education and Housing believes that our Student Leaders make a difference in the lives of our residential students and the Union College community. All students are encouraged to apply for the position. Specific details of the positional responsibilities will be available when the applications open in November.


We will have Leaders in the following locations:

  • First-year area: Fox House, Richmond House, and West College
  • Upper-class area: College Park Hall, Davidson House, Garnet Commons, and Webster House
  • Minerva Houses: Beuth, Breazzano, Golub, Green, Messa, Sorum, and Wold
  • Fraternity/Sorority Houses: Edwards, Potter North & South, Raymond North & South, Hickok, Fero, and Davidson North & South

Current Student Leaders and those abroad, who have completed at least three full terms of service, will apply through our returning student leader process. Student Leaders who are abroad and left the position before completing three full terms of service will need to apply through the new application.

Application Timeline

Selection Process for 2026-2027 Academic Year

  • Application Opens - November 1st, 2025
  • Application Closes - January 9th, 2026 at 11:59 pm
    • No late applications will be accepted

Student Leader Financial Compensation

Each Student Leader is appointed to their position for a full three-term academic year and receives financial compensation for their service based on their role.

We strongly encourage any student who is interested in becoming a Student Leader to consult with the Office of Financial Aid on how a potential appointment to the role may affect their current financial aid package. The Office of Residential Education and Housing is not able to make changes to financial compensation based on a student's specific financial aid package.
