Residential Education

Staff

Meet Our Team:

The Office of Residential Education encompasses all residential spaces on campus, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, and the Minerva Programs. All members of our team work to support the mission, vision, and values of our office, Student Affairs, and Union College.

Regardless of where our students live on campus, there is staff on campus to support them. Each residence on campus has an assigned Area Coordinator (AC) or Community Director (CD). ACs/CDs are full-time, live-in professional staff who work to support students through all aspects of residential living. Our ACs/CDs also supervise our in-hall student staff. For any residential questions, concerns, or needs a student's first point of contact is their assigned Area Coordinator or Community Director.

  • The Mission

The mission of the Office of Residential Education & Housing is to deliver an intentional and comprehensive residential experience in which students are holistically developed, challenged, and given equitable access to resources, support, and safety.

  • The Vision

The Office of Residential Education & Housing is based on the belief that where a student lives can and should be more than a place to sleep. We strive to inspire students with opportunities to engage with the community, discovery of a sense of belonging, and life skills.

  • The Identity of the Minervas and Fraternity and Sorority Life

As a cluster of 7 houses, the Minervas offers social and intellectual communities where students, faculty, and staff gather and engage in meaningful ways.

In the Fraternity and Sorority Life community, our vision is to grow the FSL experience by continuing to foster a collaborative community where students matter and belong, based in sisterhood & brotherhood, leadership, and living our individual and collective values.
