Special Accommodations Housing

Overview

In accordance with federal guidelines, and in partnership with the Accommodations Office, the Office of Residential Education & Housing works diligently to provide housing students with a wide variety of accommodations. Please note that our office does not make any determination or decision around accommodative needs. All accommodative requests must go through the Accommodative Services Office.

If a student is approved for an accommodation, our office will be notified formally, and work on finding a housing assignment that meets the approved needs of the student.

Housing Registration Assignment with Accommodations

All students with an approved accommodation for the 2025-2026 academic year will receive the following outreach from our office as we work to determine a housing location that meets their required needs.

  • All students with approved accommodations must submit their Housing Registration form by the stated deadline.
  • Once your accommodation is approved, our office will request that students fill out an Approved Accommodation Housing Preference form. This form will be sent to students with approved accommodations directly and will ask for information on the communities that they would like to live in most.
    • Please note that we cannot guarantee that students will be able to live in their most preferred options, but our office makes every effort to meet preferences when possible.
  • We will then use each individual student’s preference and specific accommodation to determine a housing assignment.
  • Once assigned to a space on campus each student will receive a notification that their accommodative assignment is available for review. Students who are unhappy or no longer desire their accommodative assignment have the ability to forgo their accommodative assignment and participate in the General Housing selection process for the 2025 - 2026 academic year.
