All residential College students are required to check out their spaces and return their room keys before they depart campus. Failure to return keys before leaving campus will result in replacement key charges billed directly to a student's account.
We know that each student's move-out may look a bit different depending on the move-out date, and where they are headed for the summer. Given this, we encourage students to return and check out in the way that works best for them. Please review our key return options below:
Express Key Return
Express check-out envelopes can be picked up from the Central Housing Office (Reamer 409) or any professional staff member on our team. To use an express check-out envelope, students should completely fill out the front of the envelope, and drop the envelope full and sealed into one of our key-drop boxes.

In-Person Key Return
If you wish to return your key in person to a member of our team, our central housing office is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm, for students who wish to bring their keys to us directly. Our office will be open additionally for key return on Sunday, June 15th, from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm for in-person key return.
Completing Your Self-Check-Out
Starting on May 27th, 2025, the self-check-out process will appear in all on-campus residents' student housing portals. As a student departs campus, they are required to complete their self-check out to indicate to our office that they have officially left for the end of the academic year. Failure to complete the self-checkout by their assigned move-out deadline may result in improper checkout fees charged to a student's account.
