Welcome class of 2027! The first-year class and transfer students not participating in Pre-Orientation programming will be welcomed to campus on Sunday, September 3, 2023.
Students may select their own arrival time in their student housing portal on their assigned move-in date. On the main page of a student's housing portal, underneath the assignment tab there is a dropdown menu where students can select and edit their arrival times. Arrival times have been staggered to reduce congestion and aid in a smooth move-in experience for all. Please plan to arrive to campus during your selected arrival window.
Pre-Orientation Students: Wednesday, August 30th, 1-4pm
First Year International Students: Wednesday, August 30th, 4-10pm & Thursday, August 31st, 9am-10pm
First Year & Transfer Students: Sunday, September 3rd, 9am-3pm
What happens on move-in day?
When arriving to campus during your scheduled move in time, all first year and transfer students will report to the Old Chapel Traffic circle (located at 807 Union St, Schenectady, NY 12308).
At check in, student's will receive their room key, and photo ID (if photo submitted ahead of time). Check in will be a drive thru experience, where a member of our team will come directly to our student's vehicles and complete their check-in there. We ask that all members of each family remain in their cars at the check-in location. After a student receives their key and ID, a map and instructions on where to go to unload and physically move in to their assigned room will be provided. All students, will be able to park near their residence halls to unload their vehicles, and then must move all empty vehicles to our designated move-in parking locations. Members of our team will be on site to assist with direction to these parking locations.
Orientation Assistants (OA’s) and Community Advisors (CA’s) will be on hand to assist with the move-in process. We encourage you to label all of your belongings with your name, building and room number. Our students will be on hand to help student's move in, and labeling items will assist them in making sure personal items end up in the correct locations. You are welcome to bring family members or friends to assist you with your move.
